DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT ✨

Hey friends, it's been a hot minute since I last posted. I think three months? That might be the longest I haven't posted for. I don't know and I don't actually care. This is just a casual thing.

It feels unnecessary now that I update instagram so much but this blog is a cute little thing that I don't want to let go of. It's kind of sad that blogs seem to be dying out, most of the ones I used to read are now neglected and nonexistant. I think I feel determined to keep this going in the same way I stubbornly buy physical CDs and miss reading actual magazines rather than online articles. It feels strangely old-fashioned, ah millennial life.

Yo I'm still alive and kicking (see featured pics of me being an odd lemon at the beach), life is good and busy. So what has happened since I last posted ? I saw Nick Mulvey, I cut a fringe, I'm now the proud owner of a boyfriend, I cooked chicken for the first time in my life, I watched Harry Potter (also for the first time in my life), I'm currently making an installation...more on that on my arty blog which has had a recent revamp .

Oh a big thing, I went to Venice! Nearly forgot that one lol, I'm planning to do a post with some of my favourite artworks from the Venice Biennale. Maybe I'll get round to that one day.

Onto the important stuff: music. I fell in love with Rae Morris. Her music is catchy as heck, so fun and dancey. I want to be her friend, she seems so NICE. An actual ray of sunshine (no pun intended). I was obsessed with Do It and listened to it on repeat for like two weeks, I can't explain it but it made me so HAPPY. Such good vibes, so much colour.

I'm going to see Paramore in January and Björk in June so that is super duper exciting !!! Still loving Paramore's most recent album, and Björk's Utopia came out the other week so that's cool.

I've also been listening to Wolf Alice, Nick Mulvey, Enya, Aerosmith, IKO, PJ Harvey, JP Cooper...I consume so much music these days, I think I need to slow down! At the moment I'm in a lovely, nostalgic phase of watching Florence and the Machine videos. My love for that band will never die.

Anyway, that was just me popping in to document my existence. Merry Christmas!

Miscellaneous Sketchbook // Part 4

Summer is over and so is my doodley sketchbook! Here's the final instalment:

Cool! That's that. It's interesting looking back at the first part as my doodles have now become much more colourful and much less minimalistic (if I was ever minimalistic). For some reason I feel compelled to fill in all the white spaces. I think I may be able to use this little book for inspiration this year as I start back at uni. Speaking of which, I'm back in Falmouth now and I'm all moved into my new room which is A DREAM and everything is nice and fun.

P.S for the sake of documentation, I turned 20 in July. I probably won't get round to doing one of those year recap/summer post thingys that I used to do but summer was good, and so was the age of 19.

Crazy plant lady

Not gonna lie, I kind of forgot I even had a blog. But what better way to come back than with a bunch of plant pics! I'm here to update you on my plant family, I can't tell you how much it has changed since my post last year! The collection has expanded, I've lost a few, and the plants themselves have grown massively. I came home from a week away last week and was so surprised how different some of them looked even after that short time! I feel like a proud mum, noticing all the changes in my growing children. This summer I started using a cactus and succulent feed so it must be doing its job!

Look at this forest! I'm continually amazed at how much plants just want to grow and survive (more on that later!).

Believe it or not, this towering thing is a baby from another plant...the babies are now bigger than the original plant was when I first got it! So cool.

I have a few pots of leaves and cuttings that I am propagating. Some of them have come off my own plants, but a lot of them I've picked up from garden centres! Either on the floor or on shelves, I figured they would just be thrown away so it was ok for me to take them and try to grow them!

This funny bobble-head cactus has become one of my favourites! It used to be very small and thin (and with no bobble) but it seems so have gotten much more fat and green recently.

My carnivorous plant is also really cool. It began as a little sprout inside that plastic pot and this is how it looks after a year!

I looove this tentacle guy! He is the only survivor out of the six plants I got at The Cactus Shop last year so he's special.

Lots of small babies growing.

These ones are great, I now have three this size and then the big one that they came from. They are super reliable, they just grow and never look stretched or unhealthy. They rock.

Babes.

More propogation pals.

This one is so odd, I actually don't know where it came from! It just started growing one day. It looks pretty freaky too. Those small leaves on each big leaf drop off and start growing into individual plants! Crazy.

That cactus arm extending from the little body has been slowly but steadily growing over the past year, I can't believe how big it is now! Such a wonky lil reject plant haha.

Not much to say about this guy apart from he's got big and fat.

More cuttings.

I'd say this one has tripled in size, and look at those little ones peeking out.

Cool cacti just doing their thing.

My Chlorophytum is getting kinda bushy, I bought a nice macrame hanger so that it can spread out and stop getting it's leaves caught on things.

One of my newest additions is a lil Peace Lily :-) I'll be honest I was definitely influenced by Hot Fuzz.

This funky thing is another survivor! It had a case of mealybugs so after some internet research I tried to treat it myself...it got rid of the bugs, but it also made the leaves go black and fall off so that's great. But remember what I said earlier about plants being just desperate to survive? Look at this guy! Barely a stalk left and then it goes and shoots some new baby leaves and carries on! Nature is so flipping amazing!

My newest plant is this pink one, I think it's actually an outdoor plant so I'll probably put it into a big pot in the garden soonish. But isn't it pretty?

This one is soo tall and lanky that I have to use sticks to keep it upright!

Finally, a nice, round, spiky character which I picked up doing my food shop in Lidl. Nice.

Look at this cute succulent pin I found yesterday! I also received multiple cactus related clothing items for my birthday last month, such as these socks. I have to say, I liked cacti before they were trendy lolol.

Bye for now!

Miscellaneous Sketchbook // Part 3

Hello and welcome to the third instalment of doodle journal/sketchbook/felt tip party. I don't have many pages left now so there'll just be one more update after this before I start on a new book. Waheyyy I never finish sketchbooks!

I have a slight obsession with drawing repetitive shapes, especially these bubbly circles.

Some pencil drawings of a few of my friends.

Collage enters the doodle sketchbook! Exciting times!

(Any Holby City fans?)

Unlike the last couple of years (see here), I didn't really get into Glastonbury this time around.  I started catching up on iPlayer but never really bothered to watch all the ones I planned to. I don't know why, I guess I've been busier this year and for some reason it didn't seem so important and exciting.

Some sweets that my stepdad brought back from France, very aesthetically pleasing wrappers 👌(will become coool collage)
